Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14, were the dates of "High Country Pride" 2009. The theme was, "Your Rights, Our Rights, Human Rights," Everyone in the High Country was invited to help celebrate, unite, and support the local GLBTIQ community. 2009 events included a movie matinée, a "generations" DJ dance for all ages, and a family picnic with live music.
Proceeds from High Country Pride 2009 assisted Boone Pride in making annual donations to the local public library, giving student awards, producing community events, and continuing to support local programs.

producing community events, and continuing to support local programs. Boone Pride is a completely volunteer-staffed 501(c) 4 non profit civic league and depends on your support and donations. Boone Pride produces the high country's, only Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Festival and Celebration! Pride becomes more meaningful when shared, and when enjoyed in the company of others. Boone PRIDE is a place where our LGBTIQ community can join together in a festive, celebratory space. Inclusiveness and acceptance are the real gifts that we give to one another when we participate. Through our participation, we share a part of ourselves. As the spirit of cooperation reaches new heights and as groups of individuals create an enormous "home team," where teamwork truly takes center stage, It is important to remember that the goal we pursue is the victory of human acceptance and understanding over the boundaries of race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. ---------------------------------------- Boone Pride T-Shirts available HERE |
